No decision over dissolving BCL central committee: Quader

News Desk : No specific directives came from the prime minister over dissolving the present central committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League, said Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

He said: “No decision has yet been taken to dissolve the present central committee of the BCL. Just a discussion was held in this regard.”

The minister made the disclosure while talking to journalists today, hours after several news outlets reported that the prime minister has ordered the dissolution of the BCL central committee.

Regarding some allegations against the BCL President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and General Secretary Golam Rabbani, he further said: “The party chief has expressed her disappointment over some allegation against the BCL leaders. However, no concrete decision came from last night’s meeting.”

“Many works done by the BCL are really praiseworthy and they definitely achieved success while performing their duties earlier. They have been asked to fix their flaws,” he added.
