Ministries taking plans to celebrate Bangabandhu’s birth centenary
All ministries and divisions will submit their plans and programmes before the ‘National Implementation Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’ within May 19.
The decision was taken at a meeting to ensure the smooth celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of the architect of independent Bangladesh at Cabinet Division on Sunday, according to sources related to the national implementation committee for the birth centenary celebration.
Senior secretaries and secretaries of the different ministries and divisions attended the meeting while Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam presided over.
Among others, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister M Nojibur Rahman, Principal Coordinator (SDG Affairs) at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Md Abul Kalam Azad, Senior Secretary of Internal Resources Division Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and Finance Division Secretary Abdur Rouf Talukder were present.
Chief Coordinator of the ‘National Implementation Committee for the Celebration of the Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’ Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury also attended the meeting.
The sources also informed that every ministry and division will organise at least one big programme marking the birth centenary.
